MINGLE LOG 001: Bring On The Welcome Union
MINGLE LOG 001
Bring On The Welcome Union

I. Hearty Welcome.
It has been some time since Travelers have joined the citizens of Restoria and the Cities are excited to show their appreciation! A large festival has been planned for the First Seventh (the beginning seventh of the Restorian sun cycle) and occurring at the Greenhouse of Unity with a beautiful aurora display in the sky accompanied by music and dancing and fireworks to greet them for their stay.
Some business owners and artisans will even give out free items to welcome you, from unique jewelry meant to hold the reore you are sure to earn, to clothing meant to help you stay warm in the City of Cloud, or glowing gemlights, meant to help you navigate the underground tunnels of the City of Stone when needed. It will continue on with various Restorians performing special acts and feats of magic with different stones, a display of some of the skills that can be learned as you train and continue to strengthen your bonds to the world and the people in it. With all of this revelry and burgeoning camaraderie, you may feel swayed to strike out and meet new people, introduce yourself to others and even get in a cuddle on a soft cushion or warm bench. If you would like to take the stage and perform yourself, people will be more than encouraging!
All of this ends in a large banquet in the Hall of Communion. The chefs will even ask you for requests, seeking to replicate recipes of foods you know and love, to help you feel more at home. Although you may notice that the food on Restoria is not exactly like the foods on your own worlds and the chefs may get creative in recreating the recipe as "faithfully" as possible.
But don't worry, they are sure you will adore it if you just give it a try. All of the food is very filling and may increase those warm, fuzzy feelings of friendship.
As the festivities wind down, you'll be escorted back to the dormitories if needed with many thanks, but should you choose to walk the Greenhouse during the Second Shift for the Greenhouse of Unity, remember that the number of guards have been increased, and they insist on accompanying you so you don't feel alone. If you refuse, they'll remain a respectful distance away, but eyes are often watching.

II. Easy Breezy
A strong wind blows by you through the pavilion of the Greenhouse and should you turn to look at its source, you'll find people floating, spinning and soaring up into the air. A large insignia of the House of Cloud has been drawn over the ground, taking up quite a bit of space. Surrounding the seal are several glowing stones on staffs softly floating a few inches off the ground. Members of the House of Cloud walk around the perimeter ensuring that people can safely enjoy their Airwalks.
They turn to you and ask if you would like a walk yourself! Don't worry, it's perfectly safe. Just step onto the seal with both feet and you'll feel lighter, your steps barely touching the ground until gravity leaves you altogether. You'll lift into the air, feeling the soft winds taking you higher and higher. You can twirl, spin, do somersaults, or shoot yourself up into the air. Just be careful not to bump into anyone else and not to go beyond the reach of the Tree or you'll find yourself untethered and plummeting back down to the ground. As long as you are within the seal, you can fly, but try to leave and the trip back down will be swift. Hopefully, someone will be there to slow your fall.

III. Strong Armed
There's the noise of thuds and thumps and loud cheers coming from a different area of the pavilion. Turning to look, you'll see another group of people standing within a large insignia of the House of Stone. The people of Stone are very happy that Travelers have come, allowing them to show off one of their favorite pastimes: blacksmithing! It is a skill that existed long, long ago on Restoria as an important need for survival, but as Restorias have ascended to immortality, it has turned into a hobby meant to test skill, detail, and efficiency. Being intune with the old traditions is very important to them.
And so many of the blacksmith hobbyists have brought their simple armors and blunted weapons for you to try on and test out. There are wooden dummies, stone pillars, and even protective stones you can wear, just in case. Please feel free to spar with one another to test how strong the armor is, or have a playful match to see who has more skill with a blade. All in good fun and with the knowledge you'll be expected to shake hands or even hug when you are done. No hard feelings!

With the large influx of Travelers, so comes the Merging, where the worlds of the visitors and Restoria begin to mesh and mix. The Sentinels take care to catalog many of these changes, including the new flora that show up around the cities, which they carefully cultivate in the large Conservatory. With the Travelers available, they request assistance in cataloging all of these new arrivals.
Please see the Standing Quest Log to make a top level for the quest! All threads must occur on the quest log to count for quest rewards!

At the question, he stops and blinks owlishly.]
I mean, at this point, we all have nothing but time. A learning hobby is a good way to pass the time. I'm thinking about learning how to make jewelry. I know I'm terrible at making swords already, or I'd try that.

I dunno, man, I'm just some guy whose been dropped into a place with all kinds of magical bullshit I've never seen before. I think my hobby's gonna end up being like, walking around being amazed by everything.

At the comment, he sort of blinks and looks around again, as if noticing it for the first time.]
Is it really all that out of the ordinary?
[Living in Mercury City, hub of universal and multiversal nonsense for at least a century, tends to warp people's perspectives, even when they aren't cyborg superheroes.]

(please prove him wrong)
Ben makes a gesture towards Eddie] You are the only other cyborg I've come across and that's perfectly normal to me. The rest of this? Is all fiction where I'm from.
[his world, while in the future and advanced, is also incredibly normal]
no subject
Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh. [He glances around again.] Well, that explains a lot. On my earth, my city in particular, has always had weird crap happening all the time. Alien invasions, multiverse breaches... Other than the food being weird colors it's not that much different.
Is... is that really such a bad thing? That's it's so different?
no subject
[a shrug] I don't think it's bad, no. Just - different, so far. Kind of a cool different for now.
no subject
Why would anyone want to turn themselves into a cyborg?
[Don't get him wrong, he digs being a cyborg, very much so, but he wouldn't exactly choose this life either.]
So all the more reason to take advantage of what it has to offer!
no subject
And I'm gonna take advantage of it. Or at least, like, enjoy it for what it is.
no subject
[Seriously, why would people choose this?
At Ben's latter comment, he just grins and swings his sword again.]
All the more reason to learn swordsmanship! They apparently take it super seriously here.
no subject
[why does he keep meeting happy optimistic people, this is his Hell (no offense to Eddie)]
That's not a reason to learn, but whatever. I guess learning the basics will be useful, maybe.
no subject
If nothing else, it's good exercise! [He pauses.] Unless there's something else you'd rather learn about?
